At Happy Hounds Scarisbrick, we believe in offering a loving home away from home boarding experience for your dog when you are away, as well as quality, fun walks in the countryside for your day-to-day needs.
Rachel is Ofqual trained in Canine Care & Welfare, we are inspected and licensed by West Lancs council as a 4 star accommodation and we are fully insured, so whatever your needs, we are here to tailor our service to make the best experience for you and your pup.
Our service covers Scarisbrick, Southport, Burscough, Ormskirk, Halsall and all the surrounding villages.
We firmly believe that every animal deserves loving care, and that's why we treat every dog with the same care as we would our own, in our home, no kennels! We are based in the picturesque countryside of Scarisbrick, making the most our the beautiful surrounding countryside for long walks and enriching experiences.
We currently offer our home boarding service to small/medium sized dogs only, with a good temperament and good house manners.
Whether your pup is young, old or somewhere in between, we endeavour to cater for any dog's needs, with group and solo walks, home visits for puppies or elderly dogs for mental stimulation and a pet taxi service all available in our services.
Whatever your requirements, we are here to discuss your needs....
Tailored to your pup's needs, we provide invigorating nature walks, and mental stimulation on home visits to keep you beloved furry friend entertained, happy and healthy. Rachel is also Ofqual trained in Canine Care & Welfare, to expertly look after your dog's every need.
We know how much you can worry about your fur baby when you're not together, so at your request and with your authorisation, we will provide updates on all the daily doggy capers we have encountered, via Facebook and Instagram posts, or privately if you prefer.
We have a fully equipped dog transportation vehicle to taxi you dog safely to and from your home, which is included in our walking service.
We also offer a chauffeur service, to taxi your dog if you have transport challenges.
My name is Rachel. I gave up the rat-race to live out my dream of running my own doggy business, enjoying canine capers in the countryside. I absolutely adore dogs! My own 2 beautiful girls are Honey the Labrador and Kiki the Beagle - They are spoilt rotten and very much our furry babies! My goal is to give every dog the same love and affection our own girls receive: to provide a fun-packed, stress-free and enjoyable experience, for all those we care for and to become every pups second mum!
To ensure the safety, health, welfare and wellbeing of all our members, we should and do have some of the dreaded T&C's, which we request from all our regular and new members, to maintain a great experience for everyone visiting Happy Hounds.
For those who are new to Happy Hounds, we will need to arrange a Meet & Greet - For walking this will be at your home and for home boarding the appointment will be at ours.
This enables us to meet your beloved pups and discuss and agree your canine care needs.
To enable us to fulfil our walking services, we will also require a set of keys to your home, as well as any alarm codes and a tour of where to find your dog's bits and pieces.
All keys and information your give us will be safely secured and we are fully insured for any loss of keys or other incidents, should there be any issues.
For home boarding, a trial night will also be required to ensure that your dog is a good fit for the pack! A trial night is the usual overnight cost of £40.
Happy Hounds will send you a link to a questionnaire, which will allow you to confirm all of the important stuff we need to know, to look after your pup and keep them safe and well. This includes questions such as whether you are happy for your dog to be walked off-lead, any dietary don'ts, any likes and dislikes. We require this initial questionnaire to be completed by all owners.
At Happy Hounds, its really important to us that we keep your dog healthy. We therefore request that you keep us up-to-date with any health issues your dog may have.
In addition, and for the respect of other dogs in group walks, we also advise the following:
For home boarding, all of the above is required and we will ask you to supply proof of your dog's vaccination status.
At Happy Hounds we do not do credit, therefore payment in full must be made either in a advance or on the day of your dog being collected or staying with us. We will not be able to accept any dogs into our care unless payment has been made.
For those who use us on a regular basis, we are happy to set up a payment plan with you.
Payments can be made via bank transfer, using our mobile payment facility accepting contactless payments or good old fashioned paper money!
A 20% deposit is required to secure home boarding bookings in advance.
To have an informal chat about your doggy care needs, to book a Meet and Greet or to secure your day care or boarding dates, please contact Rachel.
